Fun Fall Day!!

I had such a good time this weekend playing with my grandchildren.   It was time for the annual Pumpkin Walk in Cache Valley, so I decided to go up to Logan and enjoy some time with my daughters family.  My daughters family also has an annual pumpkin carving party; we did both on the same day.  My grandchildren really enjoyed all the fun.  Aj, and Jocelyn are both such a photo hams,  constantly posing for another photo.   Little Avah wanted to join in with the big kids, but obviously was to small to enjoy some of the things they like to do, and of course there was no waiting for little sister.  Baby Abby was just content being held by grandma Lisa all day.  We ended our day with a the movie Cars 2.  It was by far one of the best times I have had with my daughters family in a long time.

Work.....

Just in case you thought all I did was play all summer here is a little sample of my job at
Mt. Mckinley Princess Lodge

I cleaned 19 laundry rooms every single day.

I helped out in laundry when they needed it.

I kept employee housing clean and in order.

Even in the rain; yes there were lots of those days.

We had to suit up for Norovirus.  YUCK!

I enjoyed the wildflowers especially the Fireweed

Had fun with the cute kids on occassion

I had the best boss ever!!

And some of the best friends ever too!!

Work Hard and Play Hard thats what lifes all about!

Insights...

As I prepared to leave Alaska I began seeing everything in a very different light.  Cherishing each remaining moment I had; and enjoying the absolute beauty of Gods creations.

Every day I saw Mt. McKinley It was just as amazing as the first time.

The rainy days were cool and welcoming the change of the seasons.

Every morning brought a new and breathtaking sight to see.

Looking over the housing area I had been trusted to take care of gave me a sense of pride.

There were days I was able to relax and be a little silly.

And days I barely had time to look at the mountain peeking out of the clouds.

I woke up early enough to see the sun rise.

And went to bed late into the night.

Some things just intrigued my curiosity.

And some things were just refreshing to see.

It was very hard to say goodbye to Dianna

And silly James the train fanatic (I have a son just like him)

And Kathy one of the nicest women I know

Ain and Pevetra my roommates from Malaysia

And who could forget Bill and Dick two of the best men, and security guards I know.  It was so very hard to say goodbye to so many great friends.

I overcame so much this summer, and know I am more capable than I ever thought I could.  I overcame the hill I never thought I would be able to climb almost every day.  I had some pretty major health issues to deal with, and I got through it.  Alaska was very good to me.  It was the best thing I have ever done for me.

Goodnight Alaska I will forever cherish each moment, and each new friendship.
I hope and pray I will return again in the Spring.
