The wait is on

Talkeetna: The town the Right now I'm in that space, of just ended one life adventure; and can hardly wait for the next one to begin.  It's only January 6th, and already I can hardly wait to go back to Alaska.  Now I do realize at the moment Alaska is nothing short of a deep freeze, filled with several feet of snow right up to the roof tops, complete darkness most of the day, and -30 degree temps.  But it is still a place I love!  I actually have my official interview for my job today.  Not sure how formal this will actually be; since I am a returning employee.  The interview was actually more formal than I thought it would be.  Some good changes to my position are on the horizon, and makes me want to go back all the more.  If everything goes well, which I know it will I should be on my way back to Alaska in say 15 weeks.  UGH!!!  So I must do one of two things.  Work on my hobbies, or get a part time job till I return.  This could be a long winter; especially since I live with my daughter at the moment.  My daughter, and her beautiful children are not the issue.  The son in law, now that's a whole other posting.  :)  So just as I sit and write this I have come up with an idea.  How about I come up with a nice long list of things I would like to accomplish in the next year, and just begin tackling them.  I should have a lot done by the time April 26th rolls around.  April sure seems a long ways away right now.  So maybe a part time job isn't a bad idea afterall.

2012

2012.....

The new year brings a lot of hopes, kept resolutions for some, broken resolutions for many.  I have chosen just one word; it worked well for me last year, and believe it will do the same for me this year as well.  OPPORTUNITY  That's my focus for 2012, look at everything as an opportunity to grow, to learn, and to live life better than I did before.  At the moment I believe I am in a moment of growth, or learning.  Possibly learning how to communicate better with the difficult people in my life.  Possibly to take a look at other perspectives, and swallow a little pride as well.  Usually when things have gotten difficult I turn and run for the hills; I will try very hard not to do that this year.  Now I will be going back to Alaska in the early spring, but that's not running away from anything.  That's running to something that has really made me whole again.  I have high hopes for a year filled with bigger than life plans, dreams, and many new and exciting things on the horizon which I haven't even dreamed about yet.    So here is to a new year....let's do this!
