Being in Alaska this summer has been absolutely wonderful. I have made some really good friends, and had even more life changing experiences. Here are some of my favorites from this season.
I love how the clouds hang just above the mountain early in the morning. It is such a beautiful sight to see.
In mid to late summer fireweed begins
blooming in the middle of the stalk, with each successive flower blooming just
above the one before it. As the last flowers are blooming at the top of the
stalk, the earliest blooms seed and turn to cotton, as seen in this picture. When the
fireweed turns to cotton, Alaskans say there are about six weeks until winter
begins.Okay maybe you can say I love Alaska's skies. The clouds, the sunsets, sunrises, and of course the Northern Lights.
The mountains especially Mt. McKinley I am lucky to have been able to see the Mountain many times this summer. Visitors only have a 30% chance of ever seeing the mountain.

Only In Alaska do they have Bush Planes instead of Cars in the driveway
The Salmon are beautiful to watch, I loved trying to catch a few, and also yummy to eat.
When I was running on empty the one thing I could count on to reenergize me was being with nature. Every time I took a hike, or just went for a walk I would return feeling refreshed and ready to tackle even the most difficult situations.

The first time you see the moon after months of never seeing it, is an amazing feeling.
